Are you stressed out? Wrong question!
In this time and age, who isn’t?
Social media, careers, exams and peer pressure are taking a toll on all of us.
Fact remains that, generally speaking, stress and anxiety are an epidemic in the Generation Y club.
It is omnipresent, it is overburdening and it is preventing us from actualizing our true potential.
What if someone were to tell you that a song, one particular song, can reduce your stress by up to 65 percent?
This is exactly what a group of neuroscientists at the Mindlab International, UK, are telling you about a song called “Weightless”.
It reduces stress and anxiety by calming your brain and reducing stress hormones. The song is remarkable. What is more remarkable is the fact that it was created to calm the listener down. Macroni Union composed the song with the help of therapists.
The song reduces stress hormones, decreases heart rate and brings down the listener’s blood pressure.
Stress is slowly becoming the number one killer in the modern world. According to studies carried out in Harvard and Stanford, stress from job issues alone is more lethal now than diabetes, influenza or Alzheimer’s.
The only solution to this problem is giving your mind, body and soul the time to rest, relax and recoup.
What better way to do that than listening to music? Over the years and in various cultures, people have been using sound and songs to alleviate stress and to create a sense of community and well-being. ‘Weightless’ is an easy solution, since it has been specifically designed to lower stress.
Commenting on the song, Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson said, “‘Weightless’ was so effective, many women became drowsy and I would advise against driving while listening to the song because it could be dangerous.”
Sit back, relax and click on play.
