Who wants to live in a world stained with chaos and destruction? A world infested with psychopaths and sociopaths, roaming about waiting to fry their next victim. A land where human life is taken for granted and has no real value. A world which no longer knows the true meaning of friendship and humanity, where people are looked upon as pawns in each other’s cunning little schemes. I sure don’t want anything to do with this world.

Tired of facing the everyday challenges life throws at you? Want a clean break from the stress of reality? Why don’t you just lock up, cuddle up on your favorite sofa and fire up the old binge watching spirit residing within?

Wouldn’t you want to live in an alternate reality where vampires and witches battle it out in one final battle? Where everything has a happy ending no matter what, where daredevil always saves the day despite the many obstacles his enemies throw at him.

How can something as harmless as watching television be detrimental to my health? Well, hate to break it to you but the shocking truth is that everything in life has cons, no matter how glamourous and beneficial it may seem.

According to a new study by Japanese researchers who analyzed 86,024 specimens, by making them fill out questionnaires about their health and binge watching habits, the more time spent binge watching, the greater your risk of developing a blood clot. After more than 19 years since the beginning of the research, they confirmed 59 deaths from pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that makes its way to your lungs.

Furthermore, the research confirmed that watching television for 2.5 to 5 hours increases the risk a fatal blood clot by 70% and binge watching for more than 5 hours can drastically increase this risk by 250%.

Just to emphasize and highlight the purpose of the study, don’t spend your life being cooped up in front of a television screen. Get up, go out and live your life to the fullest.
