Video footage of a disturbing event has landed in the media’s hands. The video depicts what happened on early Saturday morning at London apartment of Lindsay Lohan. The grainy video shows Lindsay exclaiming, “Please, please, please. He just strangled me… He almost killed me. Everybody will know. Get out of my house.”
She refers to the attacker as a “fu*king psycho” and adds that “No Egor, you’ve been strangling me constantly”. She also adds that he has “beaten the sh*t out of her”. The video was taken by a neighbor.
The police arrived at the scene ten minutes later responding to what was called a “woman in distress” call and found the apartment empty. She than instagrammed a request for privacy stating that she would be extremely grateful if people would let her and her fiancé sort out this matter on their own.
Lindsay (30) is engaged to Egor Tarabasov (23), son of businessmen Dmitry Tarabasov. Egor owns a real estate company Home House Estates and currently resides in London. Egor has released no comment on the whole situation.
Domestic abuse is a serious public health crisis in United States and around the world. According to National Coalition against Domestic Abuse, nearly 20 people every single minute experience it at the hands of an intimate partner. One in three women and one on four men has experienced physical abuse from a partner in their lifetime.
It is defined as but not limited to willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior shown to exert power and control over one partner by the other in an intimate relationship.
This is not the only case of domestic abuse seen in celebrity couples.
Amber Heard, wife of Johnny Depp, just this summer alleged physical abuse before filing for a divorce.
Singer Rihanna was assaulted by her then boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009 which led to an arrest and filing of assault charges. They rekindled their romance in January 2013 followed by continuous media speculation. The couple broke up again in May 2013.
